Message:
The main concept and story of this video is the journey of a Boy waking up in the morning, getting dressed, catching the bus to the studio and making a song but there's a twist. The group and I decided we didn't just want me going through this whole process, but we wanted a girl playing my part. We studied videos such as Ciara's Like a Boy and Beyonce's If i were a boy and we wanted to give a girl the role of a boy. We thought it would be much better then watching a guy wake up and go to the studio. We also thought that we can't just have a girl go from her bed to the studio but we wanted something added to that. We come across another video made by ice cube where he had specific colours in his video and the rest was black and white. We took on that idea and decided to have everything black and white except for the colour blue. We thought that blue was a manly colour and we felt that if we incorporated that with the girl acting like a boy it would be a good idea.
What Impact has this video had:
The main impact of this video was to portray that women can do what ever men can do and that was the message we wanted to portray. A women can be as manly as a man which is sown through the colour blue in this video.
Production:
- Target Audience: the intended target audience is anyone above the age of 16 due to the inappropriate language that is used a few times.
- Software Used: The software used was Adobe Premier and for the Blue colour we used Nikon with colour selection.
- Shots Used: A variety of shots were used but mostly medium shots to show the face and the hand movements. A few close up were used to show the writing on the mask for example and some POV shots were taken to show Sam going into the bus.
Improvements:
Some one the shots could be improved. Added s few more clips to add a variety of cut shots. Except for just blue, we could add more manly colours to emphasise manlyness. We could have also went into a professional recording studio if we could which could of made the video look more professional.
